During the third call of 2024, LLEL Collaborative meeting welcomed David Newsome, Director at JFF, who presented on how AI is likely to impact job tasks, as well as how workers can evolve to meet new challenges and work alongside AI.

February 2024 Call

During the first call of 2024, LLEL Collaborative meeting host Heather Tinsley-Fix shares the vision for the next year and beyond - taking the collaborative from foundational to action.

December 2023 Call

The December 2023 meeting features details about a new longitudinal study on age diversity in the workplace from the Stanford Centre on Longevity Lifespan Lab and insights on trends affecting older workers from Julia Pollak, ZipRecruiter Chief Economist.

September 2023 Call

During the September 2023 meeting, Lona Choi-Allum, Senior Research Advisor, Wealth & Financial Resilience at AARP shares insights from Module II of the Global Employee Survey which focused on the perceptions and experiences of older workers as they embark on job and career changes.

April 2023 Call

During the April 2023 meeting, Stuart Andreason, Managing Director of Workforce Innovation of the Burning Glass Institute, discussed the American Opportunity Index.

February 2023 Call

LLEL's first peer learning call of 2023 features guest speaker Andrew Aitken of OECD's Directorate of Emploment, Labour and Social Affairs who presents findings from the recently released OECD report on Retaining Talent at All Ages.

October 2022 Call

LLEL's October 2022 Peer Learning Call hosted a dynamic discussion about the value-add of upskilling and reskilling workers, as well as strategies for doing so. Hear an expert presentation from Mark Keese, Head of the Division for Skills and Employability at the OECD, titled Future Skill Needs. Laura Tamblyn-Watts from CanAge also highlights her organization's new report Dementia in Canada: Cross-Country Report 2022 for members.

July 2022 Caregiver Roundtable

LLEL convened a roundtable to discuss how supporting working family caregivers can be an effective recruitment and retention tool. Members shared lessons learned from their own programs and experience, including how those initiatives impact productivity and employee wellbeing.

Lona Choi-Allum, AARP senior research advisor, Erwin Tan, AARP thought leadership director (health), and Andrew Aitken, OECD economist, opened the June 2022 meeting by sharing insights about the Great Resignation, the business case for healthy longevity, and trends in job quality related to job strain, respectively.

At the April 20, 2022 Collaborative meeting, Amanda Stucke, senior manager & Americas regional lead, health practice at Economist Impact, presented findings from a report that explores the role of employers in driving links between employee wellbeing and productivity, business success, and overall economic vitality in the US.

February 2022 Call

On February 16, 2022, LLEL hosted its first meeting of the year to discuss trends and research related to the Great Resignation. We were pleased to hear presentations from Nick Bunker, Head of Research, North America, Indeed Hiring Lab and Yvonne Sonsino, Global Co-Leader, Next Stage, Mercer. Additionally, Collaborative members learned about the ongoing research projects of AARP and the OECD on career transitions and worker retention.

November 2021 Call

On November 17, 2021, LLEL collaborative members heard presentations from Aidan Manktelow, Future of Work expert at the World Economic Forum, Todd Greene, Executive Director of WorkRise at the Urban Institute, and the AARP team to discuss insights relating to disparities in the workplace and the ‘Great Resignation.'

September 2021 Call

On September 22, 2021, the LLEL Collaborative hosted an OECD presentation of insights from their recent report, Promoting an Age Inclusive Workforce. This report presents a business case for embracing greater age diversity at the workplace and debunks several myths about generational differences in work performance, attitudes and motivations towards work. This led into a discussion about members' experiences with worker retention and attraction.
