Aldijana Sisic is the Chief of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women and the Campaign Manager of the United Nations Secretary-General’s campaign, UNiTE to End Violence against Women. She is responsible for the overall management of the Fund and the Campaign, and provides strategic and substantive leadership to ensure that progress is made in achieving their goals and objectives.

Prior to her coming to the United Nations in January 2009, Aldijana worked for 15 years at the International Secretariat of Amnesty International in London as a campaigning, activism and human rights specialist where she led the development and implementation of national, regional and international strategies on a number of human rights issues.

In her native Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aldijana worked as a teacher and journalist. After finishing her PhD in 1997 at the University of London and teaching at the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies, she pursued her career as a human rights practitioner.
