The NGO Committee on Ageing/New York cordially invites you to attend the 24th United Nations Annual Celebration of International Day of Older Persons (IDOP), “Leave No One Behind: Promoting a Society for All”. This event will be held on Thursday, 9 October 2014 from
10:00 am - 1:00 pm at United Nations Headquarters. Co-sponsors of the event include the CoNGO Non Governmental Committee on Ageing/New York, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), and the Permanent Missions of Argentina, El Salvador, Slovenia, South Africa and Thailand to the United Nations.
The October 9 event seeks to highlight core principles that anchor the Post-2015 development agenda that leaves no one behind, including areas where concerns of older persons have been reflected. The program will draw attention to how different groups deal successfully with ageing issues toward ensuring inclusiveness.
Registration by October 5th online at www.ngocoa-ny.org is required.
The main event will be followed by a luncheon at the United Nations Delegates Dining Room. Speakers will address “Ageing is an Intergenerational Journey”. Registration and payment for the luncheon is also through our website www.ngocoa-ny.org.
